The Beginning

Kesdar Boxers was established in 2000 with the partnership of Helen Keele ("Burmist" and "Yambuk") and Jennifer Davis (Skatchard). Helen's love of the breed started in the early 70's with a highlight in 1976 when her first show girl, Berolin Burgundy Mist, took out the Challenge (and her title) at the Sydney Royal Easter Show.

Jen bought her first Boxer, Jodie, in 1978, Jodie was not a show girl but her true Boxer temperament was always on display and so began a love affair with the breed leading to the purchase of Kes who became Champion Tonup Angels Flight. Kes was a show girl and Jen was hooked. And yes ... the Kes in Kesdar is a tribute to Kes.

Since that time Jen and Helen have always been owned by a Boxer or two and although both have had lengthy breaks from showing and breeding happened to meet in late 1999 when they were both back in the show ring with young dogs and KesdarBoxers became a reality soon after.

Situated on an idyllic 3 acres in Winslow, 20 minutes north east of Warrnambool, South West Victoria, Australia. Kesdar is a small kennel breeding on average 2 litters per year.

The Foundation dog and bitch of Kesdar Boxers, Ch. Lambda Notta Joker (Riley) and Ch. Yambuk Royal Gold (Jacqui), have sadly left us but their spirit, character and style will live on in the Boxers of Kesdar.

The First Kesdar Champion

Jacqui produced the first Kesdar Champion from her very first litter– Champion Kesdar Canterbury Tales. Angie was a wonderful showgirl who thrilled us by winning Baby Puppy in Show and a large Baby Puppy Sweepstakes at her very first outing and then winning Best Puppy in Show at the Boxer Association of Victoria Specialty Show in 2002 under UK breed specialist Sandra Carter. Angie not only thrilled us in the show ring but also produced a Grand Champion daughter (Grand Champion Kesdar High Society) from her first litter and Grand Champion and Champion litter brothers from her second. (Grand Champion Kesdar Royal Ascot and Champion Kesdar Regents Park).

The First Ten Years

From 2000 until 2010 Kesdar produced 11 Champions (including 2 Grand Champions). Along the way winning 2 Best in Show at Breed Specialties, 2 Runner Up In Show at Breed Specialties, 2 Runner Up In Show at All Breeds Championship Shows, numerous Royal Challenges and came away from the 2010 National Boxer Specialty with 5 Kesdar Boxers winning their classes, another 4 placing in the top 3 and the overall Best in Show winner a daughter of another Kesdar Boxer from an entry in excess of 200 Boxers.

From 2010

As of January 2013 there are 14 Champions bearing the Kesdar prefix acosss Australia with a few more well pointed. In addition we are proud that two Kesdar girls and a boy have proven themselves in the Agility and RallyO performance rings with Agility, Jumping Dog and RallyO titles.

In December 2009 we were thrilled to add Arken, Street Boxers From Above (Import Norway) to our kennel and in late 2010 he sired his first litter for Kesdar producing the Best Baby Puppy in Show winning girl - Kesdar Archangel, Rannei. Arken is a beautiful, healthy, strong dog combining the best of English and European Boxers and will provide a solid foundation for the Kesdar lines into the future.
