What's Happening at Kesdar

Saturday 02 January 2016
— Happy New Year! We could not think of a better way to see in the New Year than with Mischief and her babies! So here they are at two and a half weeks! Gee they are growing with each day. Up on their feet, tails wagging when they greet their beautiful mum. Soon we will be introducing them to solids and before you know it they will start to test their independance and venture out of the whelping box into the wider world of the whelping room and then, not long after that adventure, outside to catch some sumer sun and to romp and play on the green grass. Beautiful babies ... Don't grow up too fast!

Their eyes are starting to open. Mischief is very proud and is proving to be a super mum. Six healthy Boxer babies. Two boys and four girls, all brindle and white. Can Ch Papgeno's Arany Sarkany, Papa, the Canadian sire of the litter is a stunning red dog (photos below) and Mischief, Aus Ch Kesdar Wings Of An Angel, a glossy dark brindle. The litter has been well planned with Papa's sire, Twinkle Star v Eorozone, the litter brother to Mischief's grandsire, Totem Pole v Eurozone. Papa also brings to Kesdar some of the most beautiful Canadian lines. We are extremley proud of this litter and the potential the youngsters have. Bookmark this page to see photographs of this super, super litter as they grow and develop.

— Kesdar Boxers wishes everyone a happy and safe Christmas and New Year. We are looking forward to 2016 and watching Mischief and Papa's babies grow. We hope to get out to more shows than we were able to in 2015 and most of all, living and playing with our happy tribe of Boxers and, of course, the gorgeous Dachshund, Cindy.

Saturday 19 December 2015

— Super news hear at Kesdar with Mischief confirmed in whelp to a super, super, special Boxer boy! Babies are due mid-December. If you have been in contact with us previously about a pup then please call us after the third week in December for a pupdate! This litter is a very special one so babies will not be offered to potential families until they are at least 8 weeks of age. Babies never leave Kesdar before 8 weeks of age and with this litter it may be up to 12 weeks of age before we are ready to make any decisions.

Check out our Maggie-May! Ch Kesdar Kinda Hush - yes she was named after that great Hermin Hermits song which is our special song! Maggie-May will turn 13 in February. Got to love that beautiful, gentle, knowing old face. Big hugs Maggie. xx
Maggie is playing with the youngest Kesdar Boxer - Logan (Kesdar Red Hot Rumour) the latest baby girl sired by Mr Deeks.

Saturday 31 October 2015
— A year has passed by! We apologise for the lack of news – silly thing is we have loads of great news to share but both Helen and myself have for one reason or another been one-handed or so tied up with work that some things just had to give and our website was one of them!

So what's been happening?
Well for starters we have celebrated Maggie-May's 12th Birthday, Kelly and Fletcher's 11th Birthdays and Nikki's 10th Birthday! Our oldies are keeping well and we love their beautiful old grey faces so much!

Mr Deeks won BEST IN SHOW at the 2015 Boxer Association of Victoria Championship Show under English Breed Specialist Nigel Rallings, Zenmaxkay Boxers. He has sired two super litters with the daughter from his first litter, Kesdar Cracklin Rosie (Crikket) winning Best Puppy In Show and Reserve Challenge at the BAOV Champ Show at 10 months of age. Crikket is now a Best In Group winner at just 12 months of age. From the second litter, we have young Jet, Kesdar Some Kinda Wonderul, being absolutely wonderful with Best Baby in Show at the BAOV Champ Show following that up with Baby of Breed at Adleaide Royal Show and Puppy of Breed at Melbourne Royal Show two weeks later! Jet is a super young puppy with a bright future ahead of him. Mr Deeks is well on his way to being a Grand Champion at just 2 years of age. Mischief (Ch Kesdar Wings Of An Angel) was the Top Boxer Bitch and Number Three Boxer Overall 2014 Dogs Online Pointscore only beaten by two imports – so in reality Mischief was the top Australian bred, owner bred, Boxer in Australia for 2014. Sensational stuff Mischief. Rumour and Rannei both gained their Australian Champion titles too. That takes our tally of home-bred Kesdar Champions to 20!

On the litter side we have some exciting news just around the corner – bookmark this page to keep posted. Stay tuned we promise to be more regular with our updates and will share our exciting litter news when we have conformation! And we have some super photos to get up live too!

Saturday 18 October 2014
— Well with all the excitement of introducing our new litter of babies we forgot to post the photo of Ch Kesdar Red Hot Rumour's podium photograph for wining Best Puppy in Utility Group at the 2014 Royal Melbourne Show. Handled to perfection, as always, by the very talented Clare Tyler, Deeks did not put a foot wrong. The Official Podium photograph with representatives from Advance and the RASV alongside the judge. And a fun shot of Clare and Deeks celebrating the win with a smiling judge watching on plus a gorgeous photo of the team relaxing together.

Rannei is a natural. Gentle, caring and watchful. Her beautiful liquid eyes say it all - love you Rannei. Deeks has no idea - he is out playing with his toys! He then stepped out with the big boys in the Best in Group line up and made the cut to the Final 8 for Best in Group. A super effort for this exciting young dog at his last show as a Puppy.

On the left you can see the wonderful ribbons, rosettes and trophies Deeks was awarded at the Melbourne Royal and below a super photo, Deeks and Clare's podium shot for Best of Breed and Best Puppy of Breed.

Keep the space bookmarked. As soon as the official Puppy in Group photos are released we will add it to the page.

Mr Deeks has certainly hit the show world with a bang. We think 2015 will be a very exciting year for this gorgeous fellow as he matures and heads out to compete against the big boys.

— Sincere apologies folks. Jen has had shoulder problems for quite some time and has just undergone surgery. Updates to the website have been on hold until we could arrange some help which we now have! So hold on to your hats there is so much news! We want get to all the updates today but hope to update more regularly.

Puppies! We are delighted to announce that our gorgeous girl Rannei (Kesdar Archangel) is confirmed in whelp to our stunning young male, Mr Deeks (Champion Kesdar Red Hot Rumour). Puppies will be due late October 2014. A very exciting litter! We have also mated Biscuit to Arken and hope to confirm that puppies are on the way in the next two weeks. Biscuit's babies will also be due in late October should the mating prove successful. Stay tuned!

On the show front Mr Deeks is now Champion Kesdar Red Hot Rumour, gaining the last points for his title at 11 months of age. What a super young dog! Mr Deeks has been thrilling us by consistantly claiming large Challenges or Best of Breed wins over some of the top winning dogs in Victoria and interstate. We are so excited about what the future holds for this stunning young dog. Not forgetting his Best Puppy in Show win at the Boxer Association of Victoria 60th Anniversary Championship Show and Puppy of Breed at The Royal Adelaide Show 2014. Mr Deeks has been expertly handled over recent times by Clare Tyler and Mathew Smith. Deeks' sister Kesdar Reckless Rumour is more than holding her own and a third of the way to her title, winning a competitive class at Adelaide Royal. The newest member of the show team, Ragamuffin, (Kesdar Autumn Mist At Midnight) won Baby of Breed at Adelaide Royal and has performed well to date with very limited showing claiming places in large sweepstakes classes and a Baby in Group. Go Raggas! We must set up her own page very soon!

Both Rumour, Kesdar Reckless Rumour and Mischief, Ch Kesdar Wings Of An Angel, claimed Third prize in their respective large and competitive Puppy and Intermediate classes. As you can see by the wonderful photos of the youngsters they really did perform beautifully and we could not be more proud of them. And what can we say about the beautiful photograph taken by Ffiona Erskine of Deeks in the late Autumn light at Durack showgrounds. Simply magic!

June Pupdate!
Rebel and Arken's babies are absolutely gorgeous time wasters! They are now 4 weeks and up on their feet investigating their world. Their individual personalities are starting to come out with the girls being very vocal and the boys little trouble makers. The hard part has been settling on names that reflect their characters but we have decided on Crumpet, Ragamuffin (Muffin) and Strudel for the girls and Roscoe and Vagabond (Bond) for the boys.

— The news we have been waiting patiently for – Yes our gorgeous girl Rebel (Champion Kesdar Heaven Sent) and Arken (Street Boxer's From Above Imp Norway) have something wonderful to share! Rebel whelped five beautiful bouncing baby Boxers this afternoon. Three girls and two boys, all brindles with four the same colouring as mum and one little girl a very dark brindle. Rebel is a fabulous mum and the babies have hardly taken a break from suckling. Arken is as proud as punch and big sister, Mischief, (Champion Kesdar Wings Of An Angel) Arken and Rebel's almost 2 year old daughter cannot wait to meet her new baby siblings. Take a look at Rebel and her babies ... just a couple of hours old and super content.

In a couple of days we will add some more photographs to our Puppy page but right now we just want to sit back and relax with our very proud and very much loved girl Rebel and enjoy her new family.

Monday 28 April 2014
— Easter at Mount Gambier was wonderful! Staying with good friends Andrea and Craig and the gorgeous boy Lester, Kesdar Curtain Call. Lester is Nikki's (Champion Kesdar Standing Ovation) brother and a super happy fellow. We celebrated Andrea's 50th in style with a lovely bottle of Moet and we had plenty of show wins to celebrate too! Deeks (Kesdar Red Hot Rumour) followed up his impressive 14 point Best of Breed in Melbourne with another 13 Point Best of Breed and Best Minor in Group at the first show at the Mount on Good Friday. Not to be outdone his gorgeous sister Rumour (Kesdar Reckless Rumour) won the Bitch Challenge (10 points) and Runner Up Best of Breed. Rumour did not give up and the following day scored one better claiming Best of Breed over her brother, Deeks who won the dog Challenge and Runner Up Best of Breed. The two youngsters, only just 7 months of age, are producing some exciting results with Rumour now on 23 points and Deeks 35 points towards there Australian Championship titles. Deeks finished the weekend with another Minor in Group and Rumour one Minor in Group. Mischief, Champion Kesdar Wings Of An Angel also performed well with three Best of Breeds and an Intermediate in Group. Still not quite 2 years of age Mischief is the leading Challenge points winner to date for Boxer Bitches on DogzOnline and second only to the overall leader and English import! Arken's kids sure are making a statement!

On a sad note we received the news that Maggie-May's brother Duncan was laid to rest on Wednesday 16 April. Duncan lived with a lovely family who wrote such beautiful words about his passing. Hugh was only a youngster when the Moodie family took Duncan, then 5 months old home with them. Hugh wrote:

Duncan at 11 years of age. From the very beginning he was energetic and loved to play with any type of ball. From friends and family, he was known by his big paws, muscly chest and ability to run all day long. He loved the park and especially the beach, was always friendly to children and never once bit aggressively. He was a brilliant guard dog, always barking when someone who he could not see came down through the side gate. We will miss him terribly. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to have such a great friend and companion over the last 11 years. He was really a part of the family and we loved him so very much. Thank you so much and I hope when I am older, my boxer will come from you.

Such a lovely tribute to Duncan, their friend and loyal companion and so very much about a Boxer. The photo left is of Duncan not long before he had to say goodbye. Such a handsome gray face so very like his sire, Riley at the same age.

Sunday 13 April 2014
— Lovely Autumn Sunday here today at Winslow. A quiet start after our adventurous dog show excursion yesterday! Plenty to celebrate with Mr Deeks, Kesdar Red Hot Rumour winning another Best Minor Puppy in Group but ... to top off that win ... Deeks had the spectators cheering as he won the Dog Challenge followed by his first Best of Breed and 14 points towards his Australian Championship title. How exciting and how proud are we of this young man barely into Minor Puppy at just 6 and a half months? Damn proud! And we can't make this update without boasting about the youngest Kesdar boy in the show ring at the moment. Cody, Kesdar Code Red, Scout and Jackson's little man won Best Baby Puppy in Group too! Congratulations to his owners, Paul and Pauline Salnitro. Add to that Reserve Dog won by Jobe, Kesdar Quite The Gentleman (Jobe won the Dog Challenge last week so he also starting to make his presence felt) and we had a great day.

We gathered Deeks and Rumours ribbons and trophies won this year to date and the photo below shows they have collected quite a haul. Arken and Biscuit are as proud of their kids as we are. And the best bit? They just love the showring!

Tuesday 8 April 2014
— Fantastic news from Cynthia Graham in Queensland with the young man Rj (Kesdar Rebel On The Run (AI) winning Runner Up In Group (Group 2) on Saturday and then Best In Group (Group 1) on Sunday claiming the last points for his Australian Champion title. Rj is the 17th Kesdar Champion. His dad, Archie would be very proud of him! Rj is out of Rebel (Ch Kesdar Heaven Sent) and the result of an AI from 18 year old frozen semen with his dad being the fabulous champ of yesteryear Ch and NZ Ch Tonup Wear Your Wellys. Congratulations to Cynthia for piloting the young man to his title in such a short timeframe. Rj flew to QLD and Cynthia in late September last year and has had limited showing taking a break over the very hot summer months. We can't wait to catch-up with Cynthia and Rj at Brisbane for the Boxer National next month. Watch this space for a fantastic photo of Rj and Cynthia and the awarding judges.

Gosh Deeks you best get your act together because your sister showed you a clean pair of heels again on Sunday at KCC Park and claimed another Best Minor Puppy in Group! Rumour is on fire at the moment and has forced our hand ... yes Rumour, we hear you loud and clear – your own page on the website is about to go live! Sunday also saw the debut of Scout and Jackson's little boy, Cody and girl, Twiggy at the Boxer Association of Victoria Open Show. Cody won a super class of 5 babies and Twiggy won a class of three baby girls. Cody then took the honours for Best Baby in Show over Twiggy. Deeks performed well taking Reserve Dog and Opposite Minor in Show to guess who? Yes Rumour beat him again winning Minor Bitch and Best Minor in Show! The gorgeous Piper claimed Reserve Bitch at the Open Show too.

Arken came along for the day and enjoyed saying hi to his human friends and acted as chaperone to all the Kesdar youngsters. Good friend Dave Tophill took the wonderful photos below of Arken and the little man Cody (Kesdar Code Red). Thanks Dave!

Rebel and Arken produced the beautiful Mischief, Champion Kesdar Wings Of An Angel, with their first mating. It is going to be an exciting litter and one we are hoping will produce another Mischief or two!.

Monday 31 March 2014
— Sunday saw an early start leaving home at 3 am to attend the Autumn Extravaganza Maple Championship Show at Bulla. The first 1.5 hours of the journey through thick fog making it a tedious slow drive. The dogs all travelled well and we were soon set up and ready and waiting for judging to begin. And it was little 6 month old Rumour (Kesdar Reckless Rumour) who provided the buzz! Overshadowed somewhat by her fabulous brother, Deeks, Rumour stepped out and claimed Minor Puppy Bitch Class, Minor of Breed over Deeks and then went on to win a lovely Best Minor Puppy in Group! Guess its now time we created Rumour's own page on the website to join her brother. Helen took this lovely photo of Rumour on her way to winning Minor in Group yesterday. And alongside the beautiful Rosette she was awarded for the win.

Deeks was looking pretty good out there as well in his class and Helen managed to get a great snap of him too (below left). And the lovely baby son of Scout and Jackson came along to the show to check out the atmosphere with his new owners, Paul and Pauline. This little guy, Cody (Kesdar Code Red) makes his debut next week alongside his sister, Twiggy (Kesdar Light My Fire).

— Today was cause for much celebration at Kesdar – our beautiful girl, Kelly – Grand Champion Kesdar High Society, turned 10 years of age. Sired by NZ Grand Champion and Australian Grand Champion Valeska Lock Up Ya Daughters (Elvis) out of our own gorgeous girl, Angie (Champion Kesdar Canterbury Tales). So many great show memories: Best In Show Boxer Association of Victoria Championship Show 2008, Runner Up in Show Boxer Association of Victoria Championship Show 2009, Best of Breed Melbourne Royal 2008. Accompanying Clare Tyler to win the National Junior Handler competition in 2008 that saw Clare go on to represent Australia at Crufts in the UK. But Kelly is so much more than a show dog. A wonderful mother to Champion Kesdar High Tea, Kesdar High Class, Kesdar Vikings Folly and Kesdar High Flyer and to every Kesdar baby a fabulous aunty, babysitter and gentle, caring playmate. She is funny, happy, sympathetic when you are down, full of games when you are ready for it. Always dependable and trustworthy – unless food is involved! Kelly we simply love and adore you and hope you are part of our lives for many, many more years to come.

— OK ... so January flew by and it seems February went just as quickly. We really do not have any excuse for the lack of Kesdar updates because we certainly have loads of great news to share! Once more we will have to split the update into sections so you can navigate to the news that interests you the most. So follow the links: March Puppy Update, March Show News (featuring the up and coming star of Kesdar - Deeks) and Kesdar Boxer Happenings.

March Puppy Updates
All the babies have flown the nest apart from little Twiggy - Kesdar Light My Fire, Scout and Jackson's baby girl. Twiggy is the cutest little button, has a super personality and unlike her namesake is the fattest baby out! Helen and Twiggy are attending Puppy School of a Monday night and after an quiet start on the first night Twiggy is now the class clown. And yes lead training has started and what fun that is with the little monster determined to lead the way unless of course we have tasty treats to bribe her cooperation with!

March Show News
What can we say - but wow what a stunning start for Deeks, Kesdar Red Hot Rumour. After his lovely win at the Hope, Strength and Friendship Show in February Deeks ventured out over the March Labour Day weekend and proved the winners circle was his destiny! On Saturday 8 March the little man won another Best Baby Puppy in Group and went all the way winning Best Baby Puppy in Show. A great win for the little man and just to prove his point on Sunday 9 March he won yet another Best Baby Puppy in Group. Then in his first weekend as a Minor Puppy at 6 months and 2 days the young man won a Reserve Challenge, his first Best Minor Puppy in Group and under breed specialist Graeme Missen thrilled his ever expanding army of supporters by winning Best Minor Puppy in Show. Photos below show just how well this gorgeous young man is maturing.

Mischief, Ch Kesdar Wings Of An Angel has been consistently claiming the Bitch Challenge, Best of Breed or Runner Up Best of Breed with lovely performances that highlight just how much she loves the showring. The young junior girl, Piper, Kesdar Rebel By Nature (AI) shown through on Sunday 9 March with her first Best of Breed win over Champion competition. A delight to show Piper's tail just does not stop wagging and always makes me smile when trying to stack her. The tail gently waggling the whole time and when the judge approaches it goes into hypermode. She just loves being the centre of attention. Quincy has also notched up another Challenge taking him a quarter of the way to his title at barely 11 months of age. Good stuff young man.

Kesdar Boxer Happenings
We had the best visit from 11 year old Ruben. Ruben was sired by our beautiful boy Riley, Ch Lambda Notta Joker. He has the most gorgeous grey face and just loves his human family. He is best mate and companion to dad, Alex and has helped Robyn raise two human kids acting as baby sitter, friend and playmate with all the patience and love a Boxer boy can muster. We just love visits from Kesdar Boxers and their families. We received a beautiful email and photo from Scout and Jackson's baby girl Ruby (Kesdar Smarty Pants) sleeping alongside her new human sister Abbey. We are really looking forward to updates on the two girls as they grow up side-by-side. Another of Scout and Jackson's kids, Leroy (Kesdar Red Line Fever) has been entertaining his new older Boxer brother Alvin with his exploits. Alvin is so patient with him and Leroy just adores his big brother and teacher.

— Well how fast did January flash by? Too fast it seems for me to keep our website up-to-date with the latest news so I guess this post will have to cover quite a few events. To make it easier for you to get to the news that most interests you follow the following links: Hank's New Family, Latest Show News, and Latest Puppy News.

Hank's New Family
For starters the lovely Hank has found the perfect family and he is happy and enjoying his new life. Plenty of human company, plenty of ball games, plenty of love and new doggy friends; his next door neighbours Pugs and a local Labrador. Hank is doing really well and we are very happy too knowing he has a family that love him and consider him as one of their own.

Latest Show News
On the show front its been fabulous! Mischief (Ch Kesdar Wings Of An Angel) has won a few Best of Breeds and Challenges at some of the prestigious January shows including The Australia Day International Dog Show held at Bulla and The Inaugural Hope, Strength and Friendship Championship Show at KCC Park. Rannei, (Kesdar Archangel) stole two Challenges from Mischief at the local Warrnambool Shows to inch closer to her title. Rannei was expertly handled by Sherran Howlett to these wins. Sherran's boy Jordy (Ch Kesdar Just Dreamin RN) won two of the three Best of Breeds at Warrnambool with Mischief claiming the other. The young man Quincy (Kesdar Quintessential) added to his tally of Class in Group awards with another Minor in Group and on the same day won his first Challenge and Best of Breed. Clever man Quincy. Not to be outdone the new kid on the block, Deeks has debuted in style with two Baby in Groups, one at Warrnambool and one at the huge (over 1100 entries) Hope, Strength and Friendship Championship Show. Still just 4 months Deeks is really turning heads wherever he goes. Check out Deek's and Mischief's haul from the Hope, Strength and Friendship Show below. Two lovely Rosettes for Mischief and a Rosette and beautiful Waterford Crystal Vase for Deeks. Clever kids we think! And a stunning photo Helen took of Mischief after wining Best of Breed.

— We have a 4 year old male (Kesdar Dreamtime) looking for a new home. Hank is a beautiful boy with a loving nature who adores people but has decided living with another male dog is not for him. He is obedient, loving and would make an ideal companion for an energetic owner. Hanks is up-to date with his vaccinations and is desexed.
If you feel you could offer Hank a great home with plenty of human company, love and exercise and do not have another male dog then please call us on 03 5569 2343 to find out more. We will not answer email enquiries.

and good friend Sherran showed Rannei for us and her gorgeous boy Jordy (Ch Kesdar Just Dreamin) too. From an entry of 28 Boxers the five Kesdar Boxers shown all won their classes with Mischief (Ch Kesdar Wings Of An Angel) claiming Bitch Challenge and Runner Up Best of Breed, Quincy (Kesdar Quintessential) Minor of Breed and Rannei (Kesdar Archangel) Australian Bred.

But the best time was had by the youngsters Evie, Rumour and Deeks as they socialised with loads of people and other dogs thouroughly enjoying their day at the dog show. Little Deeks (Kesdar Red Hot Rumour) had fun parading outside the showring
and caught the judges eye who asked to take his photo after judging had finished. Hope he attracts the same attention from judges when he is old enough to show!

Monday 2 December 2013 – How exciting ... Babies on the way!
Scout and Taylor (Pepper's younger brindle sister) had ultrasounds today and we are excited, happy and over the moon.
Both girls are in whelp with the pitter patter of little paws expected for Taylor late December and Scout early January.
So looking forward to the litters. Taylor's litter, sired by Jordy (Ch Kesdar Just Dreamin RN), is a lovely tight pedigree that is
quite exciting and is the first litter for both. Scout and Grand Ch Kesdar Royal Ascot, Jackson's litter again is a lovely pedigree
with Jackson already a proven father of lovely robust babies. Exciting times ahead. Best we rest up now because the start
of 2014 is going to be very busy at Kesdar! Scroll down this page to view photos of both girls and the fathers to be alongside an earlier news post.

And my has little Deeks grown (Kesdar Red Hot Rumour) shown on the stack at 9 weeks. So thrilled with this youngster. A lovely blend of his beautiful mum, Biscuit (Ch Kesdar Just A Rumour) and dad, Arken (Street Boxer's From Above Imp Norway.
And of course who can resist his sister, the beautiful Rumour, Roo for short. Such a pretty little girl with beautiful expression and dark melting eyes. Roo and Deeks debut the week before Christmas. We had better get cracking with the lead training.

Monday 25 November 2013 – Is that a little bit of sunshine?
— What a miserable wet week and weekend! At least today we have managed to see some sunshine and the week ahead looks promising. The young babies have enjoyed soaking up some rays this afternoon after such a busy day yesterday as spectators at their very first dog show. They were the centre of attention with cuddles on multiple warm human laps, kisses and games all around. They were in Quincy's corner as he showed and won Best Minor Puppy in Group and sound asleep as he competed in General Specials. Little Deeks (Kesdar Red Hot Rumour) tried hard and succeeded to keep his eyes open while his brother and sisters slept soundly. The photo below is of the foursome snuggled together in the crate and below that Quincy (Kesdar Quintessential) strutting his stuff n General Specials.

Tuesday 19 November 2013 – News from proud owners!
— Its always lovely to recieve news from the families that own a Kesdar Boxer. So from now on we will try and share some of the news on this page. From successes in the Show ring, Performance arena or just Kesdar Boxers bringing joy to their familes, every email or phone call we get is special and we appreciate that we are kept up-to-date. A huge congrats to Amanda Peterson and Alvin (Kesdar High Flyer) Kelly's son who not only gained his first pass towards his jumping dog title but did it in style at the State Trials, winning his ring and then taking First place. Go Alvin. Pics below show how much this gorgeous boy loves to jump!

Sunday 17 November 2013 – Spring Sunshine!
— How good was the weather this weekend? So good we romped with the 8 week old Biscuit and Arken babies in the big exercise area on lovely fresh green grass under the shade of a lovely old snow gum and boy did they have fun! So did we of course.

We followed that with a couple of quick stacked shots just to see how they were developing and we are more than pleased!
From top left we have Deeks (Kesdar Red Hot Rumour), top right Gibbs (Kesdar Rumours Running Wild), bottom left is Evie (Kesdar Rumours Dont Matter) and bottom right, Rumour (Kesdar Reckless Rumour). The four babies will debut in the showring on 21 December. Well that is if we can get them lead trained by then!

Now the wait is on before we perform an ultrasound on Taylor and Scout to see if they have little Boxer babies brewing! Hope so.
We should know in three weeks time. Helen is so excited about a potential litter of all fawn babies (Scout and Jackson) and we are both looking forward to Taylor and Jordy's litter. Such a lovely pedigree.

Friday 8 November 2013 – At last Kesdar Updates & we have Puppies due late 2013 and early 2014!
— Wow where did October go? So much has happened since our last update with the Royal Melbourne Show done and dusted for another 12 months, fun times at the Mount Gambier shows and the big Spring Melbourne Cup shows run and won. Not to mention some exciting news on upcoming litters and my how Biscuit and Arken's kids have grown.

To make it easy to catch-up on the news you are interested in we have split it between Show News, Puppy News and Biscuit's Babies. Click on the link to go direct to the news you want to read!

Show News
Royal Melbourne Show was amazing. The weather was against us with the wind and rain coming in wild bursts and strong enough to force the whole show to close early! We backed up great results at Adelaide Royal with four First Places. The winners Quincy, Rj, Piper and Mischief with Quincy also taking out Baby of Ring One for the day. Piper was amazing, the weather turned wild as she entered the ring and she did not skip a beat. While rubbish bins and debri were flying past her she held her stack and impressed everyone with her resilient temperament. You could almost hear her shout "send it down Louie I'm not scared". The photo below was taken as she claimed First Place.
The handsome young man Rj took a plane ride to Queensland the day after the Royal to spend time in the sunny state with Cynthia Graham. The young man hit the ground running with a Minor in Show and Puppy in Show under breed specialist Terri Collicut in his first two weeks up North. Well done Cynthia and Rj and what a great photo memento of the win.

Piper at the Royal      Rj with Cynthia winning Best Puppy in Show.

Mount Gambier shows were fun with Mischief claiming two Challenges, A Best of Breed, a Runner Up Best of Breed and a Junior in Group and Rannei beautifully handled by Sherran Howlett winning two Challenges and two Runner Up best of Breeds. Quincy had fun too with two Best Minor Puppy in Group and 3 Reserve Challenges.
On to Victorian Womens and Sunbury Canine Shows. Great results again particularly for our girls. Piper, Puppy of Breed and Mischief Junior Bitch at Victorian Womens and backing it up with Piper Puppy Bitch and Mischief Junior of Breed at Sunbury with Scout stepping out to claim Open Bitch, Challenge and Runner Up Best Of Breed from a strong entry of quality Boxers. This was Scout's last outing before she retires for maternal duties - check out the exciting news about her mating! Time for a bit of a break from showing as we play with and socialise Biscuit and Arken's kids before they head off to their new families.

Puppy News
Exciting litters planned and actioned! Yes we have mated two girls in the last two weeks. The first is the gorgeous girl, Taylor, Kesdar Born To Be Wild. Taylor is sired by Arken out of Pepper's sister. Taylor has been mated to the TV Star – Jordy, Champion Kesdar Just Dreamin RN.
Our gorgeous girl Scout, Champion Kesdar Dream A Little Dream has been mated to Jackson, Grand Champion Kesdar Royal Ascot. We have high hopes for both litters and will know in approximately five weeks via ultrasound if the matings were successful. Bookmark this page or the Puppy page for updates. Photos of both girls and their mates below with Taylor and Jordy first followed by Jackson and Scout.

Biscuit's Babies
What can we say? Biscuit and Arken's Babies are just super. Now over 6 weeks of age they are real little characters full of energy and enthusiasm. The photos below taken at 6 weeks of age and on the Puppy Page show just how much they have grown and what super little guys they are. Looks like Deeks, Gibbs and Rumour (left to right below) will be staying for a little while longer at Kesdar! And boy are we pleased we have a little red boy to show again.

Saturday 21 September 2013 – Biscuit and Arken have Six Beautiful Babies!
— Wonderful news! Our beautiful Biscuit has produced six absolutely stunning babies. Four boys and two girls. All healthy and strong. We have three brindle boys (one brindle and white and two classic plain) and one red and white boy. The girls are both brindle and white. Biscuit is a wonderful relaxed mother. Photo below is of our beautiful Biscuit and her newborns.

Monday 16 September 2013
— Adelaide Royal Show has been run and won and our Kesdar team did us proud. Quincy won his class with brother, Jobe second and went on to Best Baby of Breed returning on Specials day to contest Baby Puppy in Group. Mischief won a lovely class of Junior bitches and Scout won Open Bitch. Piper managed third against much older puppies. At Adelaide Royal they do not run a minor puppy class and Piper at just 7 months was up against puppies edging 12 months of age so we were very pleased with how she performed. All the dogs loved the atmosphere with Quincy and Mischief particularly playing up to the crowd and loving the applause and noise.

After Adelaide we took Quincy and Jobe to Port Fairy for a hearty lunch of fish and chips on the wharf and a walk along the breakwater. Its a great spot to take photos. The pictures below (Jobe on the left and Quincy on the right) show the boys at Port Fairy. The boys turn 5 months tomorrow - just babies still!

Sunday 01 September 2013 — Spring has sprung!!

Tuesday 27 August 2013 — Two New Kesdar Champions titled on Sunday 25 August!
— How exciting! Kesdar Boxers titled two new Champions this weekend. Jordy, owned, loved and handled by Sherran Howlett, and now to be known as Australian Champion Kesdar Just Dreamin RN claimed his last points on Sunday under a Canadian judge in Gippsland, in the state's east, whilst little Mischief, now known as Australian Champion Kesdar Wings Of An Angel, took out Best of Breed and her final points in the far west of Victoria!

And just when we thought it could not get any better our baby boy Quincy, Kesdar Quintessential, held a stack for longer than 2 seconds and won Best Baby Puppy in Show. Now its getting serious ... I promise to have Quincy and Jobe's pages
up by the end of this weekend!

Photo below is of our new Champion Kesdar Wings Of An Angel winning Best Junior in Group at Cranboune Dog Club.

Monday 18 August 2013 — Fantastic result for Kesdar at the Boxer Assocation of Victoria Champ Show!
— We are as proud as punch! The Boxer Association of Victoria 59th Annual Championship Show was held on Saturday at KCC Park in Skye. The judge, all the way from South Africa, was Monique Hodgkinson,Tanyati Boxers.
We are extremely pleased to announce that our team right through from Baby Puppy Dog to Open Bitch made the podium.

First into the ring (literally) was Quincy - Kesdar Quintessential, who set the running by winning a class of 8 Baby Dogs with his brother Jobe, Kesdar Quite The Gentleman, taking 3rd place behind him. Rj was next in the ring and he placed 3rd. No more boys to show so we sat and waited for the Bitch classes to begin in the afternoon. But before then our beautiful nine and half year old Kelly (Grand Champion Kesdar High Society) took to the ring in the Veterans Parade. She loved being out there again strutting her stuff and it showed. Love you heaps Kelly!

Now the girls, Piper (Kesdar Rebel By Nature) came second in Minor Bitch and showed beautifully. Mischief, Kesdar Wings of An Angel, was our next girl in the ring and she showed her heart out to win her class against 10 quality Junior Bitches. The judge commented that she would love to take her home! Mischief went on to win Best Junior in Show! Rannei (Kesdar Archangel) came next in Intermediate Bitch and she did not let the team down by claiming 2nd place in a strong line up of 14. Scout (Kesdar Dream A Little Dream) 2nd Australian Bred Bitch was followed by Rebel (Ch Kesdar Heaven Sent) in her one and only outing for the year taking 2nd Open Bitch.

From an entry of 98 Boxers our team repeatedly finished in the placings. Comments from around the ring about the consistency of our dogs and uniformity of style were very pleasing to hear. To say we are thrilled is an understatement. We are just so proud of them all. Not only for the wins and placings but because of the happy way they showed – they enjoyed being shown as much as we enjoyed showing them!

Stay tuned for the photographs - but as a sneak peak here is the lovely Rannei (Kesdar Archangel) handled beautifully by Sherran Howlett, right, and Scouty (Ch Kesdar Dream A Little Dream) expertly handled by Paul Salnitro (left). Thanks guys!

Monday 12 August 2013 — Mischief stars in Lillydale Pot of Gold International Shows!
— The Kesdar team of Scout, Mischief, Piper, Rj, Jobe and Quincy headed to Melbourne and KCC Park last Friday for three days of showing. With International judges from Poland and Russia and a judge from NSW with strong connections to Boxers we were set for an exciting three days. Our team did not let us down. Day 1 saw young Mischief (Kesdar Wings Of An Angel) take out Reserve Challenge Bitch, Scout, Open of Breed, Piper Minor of Breed and Jobe Baby of Breed. Day 2 proved even better with Mischief winning Challenge, Best of Breed and Junior in Group and the Baby Quincy Best Baby in Group and Rj Minor of Breed. Day 3 – well what can we say? Mischief saved the best 'till last by again winning Challenge and Best of Breed over an entry of 42 Boxers with Piper Minor of Breed and Quincy again Baby of Breed. And just when we thought it couldn't get much better – it did! With a Group entry of 148 Mischief took out Runner Up In Group (Group 2) and Best Junior in Group. What a fabulous weekend for the Kesdar Team. Mischief is now only 9 points away from gaining her Australian Championship. We are so very proud of this young lady, a beautiful daughter of Champion Kesdar Heaven Sent (Rebel) and our gorgeous boy from Norway - Arken, Street Boxer's From Above (Imp NOR). Now I better get Quincy's page happening extra quick. The Baby boy has notched up 2 Best Baby In Groups and deserves his own link!

Monday 22 July 2013!
— How excited and proud are we here at Kesdar? Quincy (Kesdar Quintessential) at his very first show at the tender age of 3 months won his class, then won the run-off for Best Baby of Breed and then went on to win Best Baby Puppy in Group 6 over a line up of lovely babies! Guess I better get Quincy's own page on our website up without too much delay!
We have a feeling Quincy is going to be something special as long as we can train him to stand still for at least a few seconds! Mischief also did well at the show winning a super class of quality Junior Bitches and the run off for Junior of Breed. Little Piper and Rj turned 6 months of age on Saturday and both held their own up in the older Minor Puppy age group. Thanks to Dave Tophill for the photos below of Quincy and Piper taken at KCC Park.

Wednesday 10 July 2013!
— What a fun night we had last Monday. Quincy and Jobe headed off to Puppy School. They met Winston the hairy mutt, Poppy the Golden Retriever, Amanda the Mini Poodle and even their litter brother Bear (now Bentley). They slept soundly when we finally arrived home having barked, play bowed, played tug of war with the toys and learnt to come on command (well almost). I think Helen and I were equally exhausted!

The winter sunshine has provided an opportunity to get some new photos of Quincy and Jobe and also young Piper too.
The boys at 11.5 weeks of age and Piper at 5.5 months. Very pleased with how they are developing. The boys have their first show on Sunday 21 July! Cannot believe the time has flown by so quickly. Better get to work on a little bit more lead training and try to get them both to stand still for at least a second!

Jobe on the left and Quincy on the right and the beautiful Piper below. (Gee I better get the boys their own pages too).

Monday 08 July 2013!
— Busy weekend of shows and delivering babies to their new homes. Little Minson met her new family and quickly made herself at home on Saturday and then her brothers, Finn and Khupa on Sunday. From all reports the babies are settling in well. Finn has a big Boxer sister, Ruby (a Jackson daughter) to keep him in line. Little Minson has his new best friend home for the school holidays and Khupa has already sent a photo of himself, his bed and all his toys! The word is though that Khupa gets to sleep on the big bed with his new mum! Always hard to say goodbye to our precious little ones but so heartwarming to see photos and hear about their exploits and how much they are loved by their new families.

On the show front - Scout (Ch Kesdar Dream A Little Dream) won the Bitch Challenge and Runner Up Best of Breed both Saturday and Sunday with young Mischief taking out Reserve Challenge on Sunday. Very proud of the them both, especially Mischief for pushing Scout all the way and almost taking the Challenge from her older cousin after winning a lovely class of Junior bitches. A very long and tiring weekend but a good one!

Sunday 30 June 2013!
— A lazy weekend at Winslow this time around. Plenty of sunshine in the mornings, very cold though and we have finished off with some rain. Best part of the weekend? Playing with Boxer babies of course! We had great fun with Quincy and Jobe who are just shy of 10 weeks and little Hunter and Minson just 7 weeks of age.

Photos below taken this weekend. Quincy on the stack - well trying too at least! and then Jobe and Quincy together.

And then of course there is Minson, left, and Hunter at 7 weeks - cheeky as and so beautiful! Just love Minson's black velvet face and baby Hunter is so much like his older half sister, Mischief.

Monday 24 June 2013!
— What a winter morn! Misty haze across the paddocks, icy white tips to the green, the air biting, breath escaping in clouds of steam. And the steam rises too around the dairy herd making their way back from milking, silent gentle figures partially emerging from the white surrounds and disappearing back within its folds again.

It was the same yesterday as I left home in the wee hours of a cold frosty morning heading off to KCC Park in Melbourne to show the youngsters. Full moon shed light across the paddocks, an eary light casting long black shadows. But it was worth it ... both Piper (Kesdar Rebel By Nature AI) and Rj (Kesdar Rebel On The Run AI) won lovely classes of babies with Piper getting the nod for Best Bay of Breed. The photo below of Piper was taken by our good friend Dave Tophill. Piper and Rj have just turned 5 months and are really enjoying the whole showing business. Their tales just don't stop wagging and they greet everyone with joy.

Monday 17 June 2013!
— Well what a sensational day yesterday for the Kesdar youngsters! At the Cranbourne Dog Club Championship Show held at the State Dog Centre - KCC Park, Skye Rj (Kesdar Rebel On The Run AI), Piper (Kesdar Rebel By Nature AI) and Mischief (Kesdar Wings Of An Angel) all won strong classes. Rj ran off against his sister for Baby of Breed and Mischief ran off against a lovely male and won Junior of Breed. Next stop Group Specials and WOW little Rj showed like an old hand, moved and stacked a treat and won the judges heart to take out Best Baby Puppy In Group! Not to be out done Mischief went in against a strong line up of Juniors, showed superbly, and claimed Best Junior in Group. Both Rj and Mischief presented beautifully in General Specials. So proud of the Kesdar kids. A new generation of stars on the way! With luck we will be able to post some photos soon. The win for Mischief has her sitting a clear leader in the DogzOnline Pointscore Rising Star Competition for Boxers Australia wide.

While the team was out showing Helen held the fort at home welcoming two families for a visit to meet the Kesdar Boxers young and old. We feel very privileged to be able to breed and raise this wonderful dog, the Boxer, and then to meet the families that our babies will become part of is so important. The two families that visited this weekend just loved the dogs and related so well to them. We know our babies will be in good hands when the time is right for them to leave our home and start their lives, safe, secure and well loved with their new humans.

— Ventured out to a dog show yesterday with the three youngsters Mischief, Piper and Rj and decided to take Scout (Ch Kesdar Dream A Little Dream) along too as she has hardly been shown this year and needed the run. Boy am I glad I did! With a Boxer entry of 36 Scout took out Best of Breed and then on to Best Exhibit in Group (Group 1), and Best Open In Group. Photos below were taken as Scout showed her heart out ot win. Well done Scouty from very, very limited showing this year you have taken out a Best Exhibit in Group and a Runner Up in Group.

Warm home fires and snuggles on the couch have been the order of the day here and boy have we enjoyed it! Willow's crew are growing up and one little boy has really caught our eye ... Quincy pictured below at five and half weeks. Check out the Puppy Page for photos of his brothers — Jobe, Harvey and Chester at the same age. — Travelled to Pakenham Agricultural Show yesterday with Mischief and Scout and the four Archie/Rebel babies in tow. Robyn Knox flew down from Sydney to see Rebel's (Ch Kesdar Heaven Sent) babies at 8 weeks of age sired via AI by Ch NZ CH Tonup Wear Your Wellys. Mischief kept her record intact with another Best Puppy in Group and Runner Up Best of Breed to Scout who also won Best Open In Group. The stars though were the babies! They enjoyed the day, meeting people and experiencing the sights and sounds of a small Agricultural Show and then slept all the way home only to be full of beans again when we all wanted to sleep! The photo below was taken by our friend Dave Tophill of little Piper (Kesdar Rebel By Nature AI). She is certainly one to watch out for in the future.

Welcome to March 2013!
— Fantastic weekend of shows for Mischief (Kesdar Wings Of An Angel) to welcome in March and Autumn. Although we are having an Indian summer with consecutive days topping 30 degrees and no cool change on the horizon. I ventured to KCC Park last Saturday and Sunday with just little Mischief on board and she made the trip worth while.
On Saturday Missy won Best Puppy in Group and on Sunday Bitch Challenge, Runner Up Best of Bred and Best Puppy in Group again! The shows were Mischief's first in the Puppy Class. So proud of our little girl. The photo below was taken on Sunday as she won Best Puppy in Group.

Sunday 24 February 2013
— Quiet weekend or two here at Kesdar. Watching the babies grow and learn and start to develop their own personalities. They are little time wasters but so rewarding too.

We do have news on the litter front with Willow, Kesdar Wind In The Willows (Kesdar Affair T Remember x Street Boxer's From Above) due in mid-April. Willow has been mated to the English Import Australian Champion Galicar Contradiction (Imp UK). Willow is the first of Arken's offspring to be mated. The English lines behind Arken's mum tie in nicely with Eddie so this could be a very interesting litter to watch. Photos of Willow and Eddie below.

As long as the weather does not get too hot we will make the trip to KCC Park with Mischief for a couple of shows next weekend - her first outing in the Puppy Class up from Minor.

— After a crazy early rise yesterday to make the 8.30 am start for the Classic championship show in Melbourne we were well rewarded. With Scout (Ch Kesdar Dream A Little Dream) taking the Challenge and Runner Up Best of Breed and then WOW! Little Mischief (Kesdar Wings Of An Angel) competing in a strong Challenge line up took the Reserve Challenge to Scout over some lovely girls. She followed that up with Minor Puppy in Group and then thrilled us by winning Best Minor Puppy in Show! Certainly made the early start worthwhile!

Rebels babies are growing so much! 2 weeks old today! Check the puppy page for updated photos.

Tuesday 29 January 2013
— First show for the year for Scouty - Champion Kesdar Dream A Little Dream, yesterday and she lead the way with a fabulous 25 point Best of Breed at the Australia Day International Show under Mr R Scoggins (Mexico). Mischief won her Minor Bitch Class and then the run off against the dog winner for Best Minor of Breed. It was a lovely day with just the two dogs, good friends and beautiful weather.

Rebel's babies are doing well. All are over a kilo now and the excitment builds as their eyes are starting to open. The roll of the dice ... who will be fully pigmented?

Wednesday 9 January 2013
Not much really! 2012 was a very quiet year at Kesdar with Jen's work committments requiring travel and not leaving much energy for getting up at 2 am to head to a dog show on the weekend. Add to that a fire-bug on the loose meant staying put at Winslow was the safest course of action through summer and well into Autumn. Even now at the start of 2013 it is risky to venture too far away with a long hot summer predicted.

Bonus has been Jen has finally had the time to update and rework Kesdar Boxers website! At long last! We hope you like the revamped site and welcome feedback. We are still working on the Outside Kesdar pages which will bring photos and descriptions of some of the talented Kesdar Boxers that perform in both conformation and performance rings for their various owners across Australia. We also hope to extend the Gallery page to include more photos of our dogs at play. The plan is to keep the site updated weekly with News and any highlights for Kesdar.

If you like the design and perhaps are thinking about a Kennel website yourself then email BoxerDog Design.
BoxerDog Design is Jen's freelance pastime that combines her love of design and for dogs, breeding and showing.
